Jika komputer anda menggunakan WIndows XP Professional Edition (Service Pack 1 atau Service Pack 2) anda boleh menggunakan komponen IIS untuk menjadikan komputer anda sebagai sebuah pelayan (server).
XP Pro memuatkan IIS versi 5.1 di dalamnya. Persekitaran pelayan inilah yang akan digunakan untuk membangunkan dan menguji lamanweb ASP dan PHP.
Langkah-Langkah
- Buka control panel (start>settings>control panel) dan dwi-klik “Add or Remove Programs”.
- Sekarang klik pula “Add/Remove Windows Components”. Apabila komponen-komponen Windows muncul, tandakan tick di kotak kecil bersebelahan “Internet Information Services”. Klik “Next” yang tertera di bawah kotak dialog.
- Pada peringkat ini diminta untuk memasukkan CD Windows XP Pro ke dalam pemacu CD-ROM. “Laksanakan seperti yang diminta”.
- Windows akan mencari fail di CD berkenaan dan kemudian memaparkan skrin berikut. Klik Finish.
- Untuk pastikan ianya telah terpasang, pergi ke “Start>Run”, taipkan ” http://localhost” dan klik “OK”.
- Apabila anda mengklik OK, terdapat beberapa skrin akan muncul di dalam browser anda.
- Satu lagi ialah halaman “IIS 5.1 Documentation”.
- Padamkan kedua-dua browser tersebut dan pergi ke My Computer, dan cari folder “wwwroot” di “C:\Inetpub\wwwroot”, anda akan dapat melihat beberapa fail asp di dalamnya.
- Direktori “wwwroot” inilah direktori dimana anda akan letakkan semua fail-fail lamanweb yang anda bina untuk diuji. Sekarang kita akan cuba bina sebuah lamanweb ASP untuk menguji pelayan (server) kita.
- Buka “Notepad” and dan taipkan berikut

- Simpan fail tersebut sebagai “pertama.asp” (jangan lupa letakkan tanda ” ” pada nama fail tersebut) dan simpan di direktori “wwwroot”.
- Sekarang tekan “Start>Run”, dan taipkan http://localhost/pertama.asp dan klik butang “OK” .
- Anda akan dapat melihat browser anda memaparkan lamanweb asp anda yang pertama.
